Nvidia’s new GeForce 610.47 driver branch has just arrived, and while its main headlines are game-ready support for 007 First Light and retiring the classic Nvidia Control Panel, PC enthusiasts have spotted something much bigger lurking beneath the surface.
Using the Nvidia Profile Inspector tool, users have discovered three new hidden profile entries: “DLSS-NR”, “DLSS-NR Streamline”, and “DLSS-NR Presets”.
The “NR” almost certainly stands for Neural Rendering, which is the core foundational technology Nvidia showcased for DLSS 5 during its initial reveal.
Before anyone gets too excited, these new settings are currently non-functional. Enabling them within the profile tool won’t change your games, as Nvidia has not yet shipped the necessary DLSS 5 files and software libraries to actually run the feature. For now, this is purely driver-side groundwork.
DLSS 5 represents a radical departure from traditional upscaling or frame generation. Instead, it uses a real-time neural rendering model that takes a 2D frame and motion vectors to infuse the scene with entirely photorealistic lighting and materials.
While the technology sparked a massive online debate regarding “AI hallucinations” and altering a game’s original artistic intent, this driver update proves Nvidia is full steam ahead. With a planned launch window for Fall 2026 alongside titles like Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Starfield, the inclusion of these flags suggests the 600-series driver branch will be the one to officially usher in the DLSS 5 era.
